It’s the revolutionary invention of Michelle Goldberg, whose bakery FreshBakedNY also offers new twists on classics like brownies and petit fours. Since her storefront is virtual—“click-and-order is taking over brick-and-mortar,” she says—the only way to get her sweet treats is by ordering online.
To keep the revenue rolling in, Michelle always looks for corporate accounts that will place standing orders. But in competitive New York, her presentations need to make a serious impact, and old-school sell sheets weren’t helping her to close sales. “A piece of paper is flat. It means nothing,” she says. “It doesn’t keep the client involved.”
